Michael Olorunyomi Biography: Nigerian Fugitive Linked to Romance and BEC Fraud

Our independent investigation shows that Michael Olorunyomi, also known as Ayomide Michael, “Ayo,” or “A.Y.,” was born on May 12, 1983, in Nigeria.

The plain truth is that this man specialised in romance scams that targeted elderly people and widows. He and his partners created fake dating profiles, built trust, and then drained bank accounts or used those same accounts to receive money from other frauds.

Investigators say the romance victims alone lost more than one million dollars, and some of their accounts were later handed over to the Business Email Compromise crew that hit American companies for another six million dollars.

On November 13, 2019, he was indicted in the District of Nebraska on conspiracy to commit wire fraud, identity theft, and access device fraud. A federal warrant followed the next day.

He is believed to be in Nigeria and is considered an international flight risk. As it stands right now, the FBI continues to list him among the most wanted cyber criminals linked to the Nebraska case.
